About Us

STEVE & MARY BERTHIAUME

We are Steve and Mary: passionate, compassionate, and skilled dog trainers who help owners develop and maintain a healthier, more relaxed, and enjoyable relationship with their dogs. By working with our own dogs (Kodak and Canon) many years ago, we started learning how to problem solve behavioral concerns to arrive at a place where we could truly enjoy our best friends! We then continued studying dog behavior and training and began working with our friends' and neighbors' dogs. We began to see so much success in our dog training efforts that I (Steve) decided to leave my job with Apple (yes, that Apple) to start Lead By Love Dog Care and work with dogs and their owners full time.

Our business is truly a Mom and Pop operation that is completely run by just the two of us. I handle the training/walking/boarding side, and Mary manages our website, keeps our records straight, and assists with occasional walks and feeding. Mostly though, she just plays with the dogs and keeps them happy. I also work with the owners, both before and after their dog's training, to assess the canine's needs and help them find the best solutions to whatever dog behavioral problems they are encountering. We have developed many transformational training programs and will help you select the best one for you and your dog.
